Student Of The Year is an upcoming comedy film directed by Karan Johar, starring new comers Varun Dhawan, Siddharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles.
The film is produced by Karan Johar and Shahrukh Khan under the banner of Dharma Productions and Red Chillies Entertainment.
The film marks the debuts of Alia Bhatt, daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, son of director David Dhawan and newcomer Siddharth Malhotra.
This is Karan Johar's first directorial venture without Shahrukh Khan in the lead role. Rishi Kapoor is going to play a gay role in the film.
Malhotra and Dhawan had previously worked as assistant directors under Johar during the making of the 2010 film, My Name is Khan.
Kajol and Shahrukh Khan in a special appearance in the movie.
The soundtrack for the film will be composed by Vishal Shekhar.
Releasing in 2012.
